Few years back I visited Goa and enjoyed it! Full of beautiful beaches and rich and diverse tropical plants and flowers, it is truly a paradise! We stayed at the beautiful Majorda resort property, and got to enjoy the nature, private beach, their hospitality, great food, and day trips organized by them.
Day 1: Majorda Resort Welcome Stepping into the serene ambiance of Majorda Resort in Goa, I knew my stay would be a memorable one. The lush greenery, the sound of the waves, and the warm hospitality set the perfect tone for my Goan adventure.
Day 2: Exploring Mangeshi Temple Immersing myself in Goan culture, I visited the ancient Mangeshi Temple. The intricate architecture and the spiritual aura left me in awe. The rhythmic chants and the fragrance of incense created a serene atmosphere, making it a spiritually enriching experience. The Mangeshi Village is from where the famous Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle hailed from as their dad was from this village.
Day 3: Boat Cruise on the Mandovi River A highlight of my trip was the scenic boat cruise along the Mandovi River. As the sun set over the water, I marveled at the picturesque views of the coastline and the vibrant cityscape. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration, with live music and amazing Goan dances adding to the festive ambiance.
Goan Dances and Cultural Extravaganza – In the evening, I was treated to a mesmerizing display of Goan dances. The vibrant colors, energetic performances, and infectious beats got everyone on their feet. It was a celebration of Goan culture, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the region.
Day 4: The Basilica of Bom Jesus Visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, was a humbling experience. The intricate architecture and the historical significance of the church left me with a sense of reverence. The serene ambiance inside the basilica was a stark contrast to the lively streets of Goa.
Fort Aguada Exploration – Our final day in Goa was dedicated to exploring Fort Aguada. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea, the fort offered breathtaking panoramic views. Steeped in history, it was a fascinating glimpse into Goa’s colonial past, with well-preserved structures and cannons dotting the landscape.
Goan Vegetarian Delights: No trip to Goa is complete without indulging in its delectable vegetarian cuisine. From the flavorful vegetable curries to the crispy Goan bhaji pav and the refreshing kokum drink, every meal was a culinary delight. The use of local spices and fresh ingredients added an authentic touch to the dining experience.
My journey through Goa, from the tranquil retreat at Majorda Resort to the cultural explorations and gastronomic delights, was a perfect blend of relaxation, spirituality, and adventure. It’s a destination that captures the essence of India’s diverse culture and natural beauty, leaving a lasting impression on every traveler. Rich in its diverse culture, Goa still has a lot of Portuguese influence in its food, culture, and unique architectural heritage. I hope I get to visit Goa again and do more there! Till then keep watching!
